Indications

The Safe Ear Curette is indicated for use in cases of impacted cerumen and/or foreign bodies occluding the ear canal.

Contraindications

There are no absolute contraindications for cerumen removal.

  • Are curettes sterile?

    Not necessary, not used in a sterile environment.

  • Is there a CPT code for this procedure?

    We recommend that you submit this under CPT code 69210 for potential reimbursement. Alternatively, cerumen removal may increase the complexity of the visit. Curettage can also be used for foreign body removal. It can be submitted under CPT code 69200 for potential reimbursement.

  • Are curettes individually wrapped?

    No, fifty curettes come in a single pouch for easy access.
